Hemlock Ridge House
Set within a sweeping landscaped meadow, Country in Connecticut is a modern estate residence that balances refined architectural detail with a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Designed as a contemporary interpretation of a classic gabled home, the house combines crisp white siding, expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing, and a grounded stone base to create a timeless yet forward-looking presence.
The home is carefully organized to maximize long views across the property, with generous outdoor terraces and large expanses of glass blurring the line between interior and exterior living. Natural light plays a central role throughout the residence, enhancing the home’s open layout and reinforcing its relationship to the site.
The interiors were designed by Karen Asprea, whose work brings warmth, texture, and sophistication to the architecture. A bold material palette, custom millwork, and thoughtfully layered finishes create spaces that feel both elevated and livable—perfectly complementing the home’s modern architectural framework.
This country house exemplifies a holistic approach to residential design, where architecture, interiors, and landscape work together to create a cohesive, enduring home rooted in its environment.
